R:ED Mexican Christmas Party	On Dec 9, 2008 over 40 members gathered at Don Pedro's Mexican Restaurant to have a party!  Everyone enjoyed meeting other neighbours while munching on some complimentary snacks.  It was great to indulge in a drink or two, knowing we all walked from home!  Thanks to the Spirit Committee for organizing this event and to R:ED members for bringing food for a Cheer Board hamper!

R:ED Meeting - What's the Plan? Marsha Christiuk, Planner with the City of Winnipeg, addresses about 35 R:ED members at a meeting at Taste of Sri Lanka.  Marsha discussed the planning process currently underway, hopeully leading to a Secondary Plan for the area.  At the same meeting, Councillor Mike Pagtakham discussed his vision for the area and took questions.

2008 Family Picnic On a beautiful summer evening in August, R:ED held its first Family Picnic.  Steven Juba park was the perfect venue for an event billed as "neighbours meeting neighbours." Great weather, a wonderful surrounding, BBQ food and about 70 area residents had a perfect evening meeting and eating...

Thanks to the many local vendors and especially the Exchange District BIZ for their support for this great event!

R:ED Exchange Tour

We had a tour of the East Exchange District for REZ on July 26, 2008.  Residents enjoyed seeing our buildings in a new light, learning of their origin and historical significance.  It was a beautiful learning the historical details of the interesting area we live in on a beautiful Saturday.

Farmer's Market

The 2008 Farmer's Market was wonderful!  It was so great to be able to shop within our district for fresh fruits and vegetables as well as crafts and treats!  Located at the corner of McDermot and Main, it was a hub for residents on Saturdays.
