 About 35 R:ED members took a break at this busy time to gather at The District lounge and celebrate the season with fellow residents.  Wonderful hors d'oeuvres were compliments of The District.  In addition to a great time, we gathered some food items and $110 for the Christmas Cheer Board.

Cocktails 101


 On Monday June 22 R:ED members gathered for an educational/social event. Andrew Penner, a former R:ED member, prepared a variety of cocktails and martinis. We had an opportunity to taste each, learn the tips and techniques and we were given the recipes as a handout (available for download from members-only section).  It was fun evening!

R:ED Meeting - Safety in the
Streets

 This meeting focused on Safety, featuring a discussion from Josiah Cook and Lisa Knievel of the Exchange District BIZ Foot Patrol about their experiences walking the Exchange 'beat'.  Our guest speaker was Sergeant Darrall Kotchon of the Winnipeg Police Service.

R:ED Meeting - Artists in the Exchange


 Red may only be one colour in an artist's spectrum, but on March 25, 2009, R:ED was the only colour!  We held our 1st annual Artists in the Exchange event.  It was a great opportunity to meet local artists, hear from them and to view their work.  Hopefully, it will also lead to some sales!

Wine Tasting:
New World R:ED
and Whites

On March 11, 2009, 22 R:ED members gathered for our second wine tasting, this time exploring New World Wines.  Again, Oui Bistro and Wine Bar hosted an evening full of wines, delicious hors d'oeuvres and wonderful conversation.

On a cold February evening, 25 R:ED members met at Oui Bistro and Wine Bar for a wine tasting of Old World wines.  This sold-out social event included tastings of some wonderful wines:
    #1 - J.C. Beauvoir 2006 Sauvignon blanc Vin de Pays d'Oc
    #2 - Labouré-Roi 2007 Chardonnay "Les Prairies" Vinde Pays d'oc
    #3 - Labouré-Roi 2007 Pinot Noir "Les Prairies" vin de Pays d'oc
    #4 - Baron Philippe de Rothschild 2006 Bordeaux Mouton Cadet
along with some great hors d'oeuvres from the Oui chef.  Everyone had a great time tasting the French wines and the food while getting to know each other a bit better.
