The second annual Bannatyne Carnaval
is a community event that brings the exciting vibe of the Brazilian Carnival to the East Exchange.
You are invited to walk the street, dance to the music, sit at one of the three huge patios by Corrientes Argentine Pizza
, Liv in the Exchange Nightclub
and Carnaval Brazilian BBQ
, and feast on great food. You can also wander the beer garden and check out the BBQ'd pig, food offerings from Prairie 360, and of course a selection of craft beers from Barley Brothers. All that plus some some food trucks.
Direct from Brazil, the headliner act is Thiago Correa, an amazing mashup of cultures and styles, featuring live band, DJ and VJ. Also featured is Marco Castillo, who had people dancing on the street last year to their Latin Brazilian rhythms, Paradize Band with their Caribbean flair, salsa band Combo Latino and from Buenos Aires, the amazing Guillermo Ocejo.
Want to warm up for the evening dancing? Come Saturday afternoon for the Zumba class and Samba Classes – they are sure to get your blood flowing!
The event is FREE TO ATTEND, and will run Friday August 23 from 8 - 11 pm, and Saturday August 24th from 2 - 11 pm.
